1 Holly introduced the meeting with an overview of the WI. The structure of the WI as a whole was discussed.
2 Matters arisingThere were no matters arising.
3 Website writeupFiona volunteered to write up meeting for the website.

The members’ attention was drawn to the Google doc containing the list of suggestions for the coming year.

The meeting was made aware of the survey we’re currently running and encouraged to complete it.

5  Around the WIs Catherine visited Clapham WI and gave her talk about cameras. Clapham are one of the older WIs in London and are interested in campaigning.

Yvette mentioned that Stroud Green WI were attending the Hornsey Music Festival this weekend and running a cake stall on the Sunday.

We were made aware that Brixton WI have closed, with their last meeting this week.

Stoke Newington WI may also be closing soon due to lack of committee members.

6 Campaigns and local initiativesThis coming Monday we are doing a ‘Day of Action’ to highlight the ‘Save our high streets’ campaign. How to campaign: take a photograph of shop or product you like, tweet or facebook it, tell us why it’s awesome. Hashtag #soshighstreets.
7 Press We were in the Guardian, thanks to our Stroud Green WI counterparts, and the Evening Standard Magazine along with the Dalston Darlings and the Shoreditch Sisters. The president thanked everyone involved in organising the article and photoshoot, including Elin in absentia.
8 Upcoming events The group meeting is coming up, we’re asking people to join so they can come along to Lauderdale house on 25 September and see Professor Elemental, Chap Hop MC extraordinaire.

The next Alternative Bring and Buy will be on 6 October. We won’t be running a stall but some members are likely to attend.

Bibliogoth will be making a welcome return, also on 6 October at the Green Man pub. Details on Facebook.

9 CorrespondenceSubscriptions have been set at £34.70 for the next subscription year. You are encouraged to take advantage of the offer to join in October and get 15 months of membership instead of 12.
10 Break for refreshments
11 Corinne Pritchard and Holly Peterson ran a Vintage Quiz, including ‘guess the vintage beauty product’ and ‘draw these 1950s hairstyles’ rounds.The winner with 24 points was team ‘More Cake Please’. The runners up with 21 points were ‘Insert Team Name Here’ (the team was unnamed). Both were awarded prizes.
